Fordante’s next concert is going to be a special Jubilee Movie Music Concert at the Birchmeadow Centre, Broseley, Shropshire focusing on some Great British film music along with some of Fordante’s own Great British light classical music.

The concert is on Saturday 2nd June at 8:00pm.

I’m also producing a ‘Behind The Scenes’ video so that those interested can see the stages of taking a musical idea, arranging, notating through to rehearsing and then performing in concert.  This might be of interest for anyone who wants to have a little insight into the processes involved in taking a concept like Fordante and turning it into a concert particularly as all of the music has to be orchestrated specifically for our line up of cello, viola, violin, oboe and piano/synth.

Here’s the first release:- a video of Fordante in rehearsals last week in my studio playing the beautiful ‘Gabriel’s Oboe‘ from The Mission composed by Ennio Morricone.  It’s a little rough because it was literally a press record and go but you can get the idea..

We have had some really very appreciative feedback from the concert which is always welcome.  On talking to several audience members in the interval and at the end of the concert it was apparent that there are alot of film music lovers out there so it was a genuine privilege for Fordante to be able to perform a concert of several movie tracks to such like minded people.

I took the opportunity to record a couple of the rehearsal tracks from the session which I’ll be uploading to YouTube very soon.  The rehearsals are always a great opportunity to try new things out and perhaps have a little fun as Ruth, our resident chef (and viola player) seems to be.
